GEOLOGY OF THE SANDY WATERSHED

The Sandy River Basin is the only watershed monitored by SWRP with headwaters on Mount Hood. Drainage from the Sandy and Reid glaciers form the first rivulet of the Sandy River's headwaters at 6,200 feet. Mount Hood is an active volcano and the highest point in the State of Oregon.
